Capabilities range from cost-effective pre-visualization tools to top of the line HDR mastering displays. To help you navigate our current solutions below is a breakdown of the two general levels of HDR capabilities you will find in our product line.
HDR Preview
Current Models: DM160, DM211, DM231, DM242
Designed for production and quality control applications. Useful as a cost-effective HDR pre-visualization tool. Monitors with HDR Preview will have more limited peak luminance and/or contrast ratio capabilities than HDR Mastering displays. There are three HDR Preview modes available on these monitors: HLG, PQ with hard clip near monitor peak luminance, or PQ with a soft roll-off of highlights.
While all DM series monitors feature these HDR Preview modes, these modes are especially useful on high-contrast OLED displays like the DM160. With a 1,000,000:1 contrast the DM160 can track the PQ EOTF especially well in the low-end making it an excellent match to HDR Mastering Displays in the 0 to 300nit range. For many on-set applications this reference low-end tracking combined with rolled-off highlights is often all that is needed for effective on-set HDR monitoring when budget or space do not allow for an HDR Mastering Display.
HDR Mastering
Current Models: XMP270, XMP270C, XMP310, XMP310C, XMP550, XMP551, XMP651
Designed specifically for HDR content creation and review. Displays in this category qualify as Dolby Vision mastering monitors. These flagship displays meet key performance benchmarks for finishing the majority of HDR deliverables and will have a peak luminance rating of at least 1,000cd/m2.
